Folk Philosophy in South Asia: Exploring Cosmic and Mundane in Folklore

Department of Sociology in collaboration with Banasthali Vidyapeeth organized a conference on Folk Philosophy in South Asia: Exploring Cosmic and Mundane in Folklore, on   25-26 March 20I7,  at Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Tonk, Rajsthan. The conference convened by Dr. Dev Pathak (SAU) with Dr. Preeti Sharma (Banasthali Vidyapeeth), had close to hundred research papers exploring diverse facets of folk philosophy by scholars from across the region including young scholars from South Asian University. The inaugural lecture was delivered by Susan Visvanathan, professor of sociology at Jawaharlal Nehru University, and the valedictory address by Sasanka Perera, professor in sociology and Vice-President at South Asian University.
