Re-imagining South Asia: An Exploration into the History of Ideas

An international conference on Re-imagining South Asia: An Exploration into the History of Ideas, was co-convened by Dr. Dev Pathak and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, at Department of Political Science, University of Delhi, on 17-18 February 2017. The conference had over ninety scholars including scholars from South Asian University deliberating on various thinkers from the region. The inaugural panel consisted of Peter Ronald deSouza (Fellow, CSDS), Sasanka Perera (Vice-President, SAU), Hilal Ahmad (Fellow, CSDS) and Ashoka Acharya (Professor, Political Science, DU). The valedictory panel unraveled an intense debate on the idea of South Asia with Ravi Kumar (Sociology, SAU), Ujjawal Kumar Chowdhury (Professor, DU), Dev Pathak (Sociology, SAU), and Upendra Chowdhury (Director, ICSSR) on the panel.
